Covid-19 guidance

A warm St Cuthbert's welcome still awaits you, although no refreshments can be provided at the end of the service, and we can no longer sing hymns during the services.

We continue to work with the Government and Church of England Covid-19 guidance in making the church environment as safe as possible and to protect everyone. Due to the high incidence of infections both locally and nationally we are asking all users of the Church to continue to observe the regulations that were in place before 19th July 2021 for the time being.

  • Although Face coverings are no longer mandatory in places of worship, we ask you to continue to wear them. The exceptions for those exempted and for the bride and groom and those officiating at a wedding not to wear them continues.
  • On entering and exiting St Cuthbert's everyone is asked to use the hand sanitiser provided in the entrance porch.
  • Please continue to observe the Government physical (social) distancing guidelines while inside and outside the church. Remember this is 2 metres without some additional control measures like a face covering or 1 metre if wearing a face covering.
  • Government guidance no longer mandate that we record the names of attendees and visitors. But, as this is designed to help NHS Test and Trace and keep you safe, we ask that you continue to use the NHS QR code with the NHS Covid app, or enter your details in the attendance sheet. These records are kept for 21 days, to assist track-and-trace. All information is dealt with as required by GDPR and the records will be securely disposed of after 21 days. St Cuthbert's privacy policy is available here.

Please maintain physical distancing at the end of the service, there is a one-way system to help you maintain physical (social) distancing.

Thank you for your support

A new roof for the church cost us £215,000 and we still need to urgently raise funds for restoration work on the tower, an internal re-ordering and a new lighting scheme.

Weʼre raising £5,000, please help us to help you by donating - click on the logo below.
