A team from St Cuthberts is now regularly taking Open the Book (Bible Society) into 3 primary schools in our parish, and has visited Priory Woods School.
Open the Book is a fabulously accessible, concise and fun way of bringing Bible stories to life for school children. The stories are carefully put together by educators, and acted out in a simple but creative and visual way by a team of 4 or 5 volunteers from church.
The presentation takes only 10 minutes and is usually presented to the whole school during assembly. Children are encouraged to participate too. Each story-time ends with a very short optional prayer that is relevant to the story and to children’s everyday life e.g.: saying sorry, sharing what we have, being kind, etc.
We are always looking for more people to join the team, so if you have a few minutes to spare on weekdays, and think this may be for you, please speak to Rev Jen or Jill. Thank you. www.openthebook.net
